It's quite a small museum but it has some great attractions. It's divided into two sections: geological and zoological. The geological part focuses on the formation of Iceland and the major types of rocks and minerals. The zoological part focuses (with few exceptions) on Icelandic birds, mammals, fish and invertebrates.
Star of the show here for our family is Lúsifer - a deep water fish with a light on it's head and a terrifying amount of sharp teeth. The kids also enjoyed the birds, seal and aquariums.
If requested (and preferably reserved in advance) the museum provide free guidance; adapted to interest age and language.
