Klambratún Park is a lovely recreational area in downtown Reykjavík. It used to be a farm but was bought by Reykjavík council and in the 1960´s Reynir Vilhjálmsson designed the park that you´ll see there today.
The children´s playground has a zip wire, swings, climbing equipment, a teacup and some cute animals to climb on. We had a lovely picnic there. There is a also a basketball court, a frisbee golf course and a football field and outdoor barbecue facilities too!
Kjarvalsstaðir Art Museum is located in the park, named after Jóhannes Kjarval (1885–1972), a well loved Icelandic artist. You´ll find his work in the museum and also in the park.
